Conch Piercing January 9, 2010

For months, I have debated where to get a piercing and last week, I finally decided that I would go to Sudden Rush Tattoos and Body Piercings. One of my friends suggested this place so we went after school.

I heard a lot and watched from youtube how the piercing would be but had no idea what it would feel like. Some people said that it hurt a lot while others said that it was entirely bearable.  Fortunately for me, it did not hurt as much as I expected and I love it!

I got the Captive Bead Ring (CBR) instead of the barbell and I’m hoping that it’s easier to clean and take care of. Breathing really helps when you get any piercing :)

The piercer guy said to just clean it with antibacterial soap about three times a day but I also read that saline solutions (salt soak) would be good too so I’m not quite sure.

Anyways, I love how it turned out. There isn’t any redness and it only throbs a little bit when it gets accidentally touched. One thing that I really don’t like though is how I can’t sleep on my left ear now! I think I’m a better sleeper when on the left so I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night and woke up super early today (well for a weekend anyways.)

Well, I would recommend Sudden Rush and conch piercings to anyone because they’re pretty looking and not as painful as some other piercings.

Today I stopped by Longs again to check out more Epielle products since I really liked the nose strips.  I found Aloe cleansing wipes and Cucumber wipes.  I purchased the cucumber ones for $1.99 (same as nose strips). Each pack as thirty wipes.  Will be reviewing later!

Review: Epielle deep cleansing nose strips January 4, 2010

Whilst wandering around Longs/CVS today, I spotted these Epielle Deep cleansing nose strips.  I used Biore before but had never even heard of the Epielle ones.  The box has three strips and is around $2.  The Biore strips have six in a box and are around $6.

Epielle Deep Cleansing Nose Strips

ehh, sorry for the tiny picture.  The box is about 5 inches high, 2.5 in length, and a centimeter in width. The strips are in individual foil packets that include directions as follows:

1. Wash face thoroughly and make sure it is clean of any creams, lotions, or makeup

2. Dry hands and take the strip from the silver packet and peel it from the plastic liner.

3. Wet nose with water so that the strip will stick

4. Apply strip to moistened nose with the side peeled from the plastic (shiny side) on the skin

5. Let strip dry for 10-15 minutes.  It should harden as it dries.

6. After the strip is thoroughly dry and hardened, pull the strip off slowly starting with the edges.

The instructions are a bit paraphrased, but it’s basically the same.  As you can see, the strips are identical to the popular Biore ones.

After being satisfied by the results by Epielle, I researched more about the brand and found that a lot of their stuff is cheap but effective. Another example of a great product is Make-up Remover Cleansing tissues or Cucumber cleansing tissues. From other reviews, it comes with 30 in a pack for about a dollar.

End of break January 4, 2010

So now the two weeks of winter break is coming to end and I hoped that today, as the last day, would be good.

For my AP Stats class, we get extra credit if we turn in our homework before 8 AM today so I woke up early to get there and it is an EXTREMELY nice day out today! I walked to school and dropped by Town Center and then back home to find that my sister did not go to work like she was supposed to. She was a grump too, complaining about stuff and being lazy. aaargh. That just kind of ruined my day

But then she managed to convince herself to get to work late (though driving and not taking bus).

The Product of the Week is now Revlon Colorstay Foundation.

Just a quick post to celebrate the New Year!

Ugh, there are a ton of those ground shaking fireworks going on right now since it just passed midnight. I’m not sure how my dad and grandma are sleeping through this o_o

Anyways, hope everyone has a happy new year!

(and I am now eighteen ;]
